Healthy Magazine: Millie, thank you for taking the time to chat with us today. Let’s start with your approach to fitness. How do you stay in top shape for the season?
Millie Bright: Thank you for having me! Staying in top shape is crucial for footballers, so I make sure to keep a consistent workout routine. I focus a lot on strength training to improve my power and agility on the field. I also incorporate a lot of cardio and speed drills to maintain my endurance. It’s important to find a balance between pushing yourself and allowing your body to recover.
HM: That’s great to hear. What about your diet? Do you have any specific nutrition tips for staying energized and healthy as an athlete?
MB: Nutrition is so important in helping me perform at my best. I try to eat a balanced diet that includes plenty of lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Hydration is also key, so I make sure to drink plenty of water and electrolyte-rich fluids to stay hydrated. I also avoid processed foods and sugary treats and opt for whole, nutrient-dense foods to fuel my body.
HM: We love that you prioritize healthy eating. Now, let’s talk about your beauty routine. Do you have any go-to products or routines that keep your skin glowing despite your busy schedule?
MB: With all the sweat and dirt from playing, it’s important for me to take care of my skin. I make sure to thoroughly cleanse my skin after training or matches to prevent breakouts. I also religiously moisturize to keep my skin hydrated. As for products, I love using natural skincare products that are gentle on my skin. I also make sure to protect my skin from the sun by applying sunscreen before heading out for training or matches.
HM: It sounds like you have a great approach to beauty and skincare. Finally, what kind of self-care practices do you prioritize to stay balanced and maintain mental wellbeing?
MB: Mental wellbeing is just as important as physical health, especially in a high-pressure sport like football. I make sure to take time for myself, whether it’s through meditation, journaling, or spending time with loved ones. I also prioritize getting enough sleep and making time for activities that bring me joy, such as reading or listening to music. It’s all about finding that balance and taking care of both my body and mind.
